Adobe Photoshop 2020 (version 21) Download The guide below describes how to use Photoshop in the most efficient and effective manner for the beginner or "digital citizen." Open an image It's always best to start with a clean image from a digital camera or scanner. The use of a template can be extremely helpful. One alternative is a "polaroid" camera, which produces images in a fixed size with a roughly rectangular shape, perfect for creating a template. You can use Photoshop's automatic "Grid" feature to create a grid, but my personal preference is to use a template that is approx. 9" x 12" with 100 pixels per inch (ppi) in the vertical and horizontal directions. If you choose not to use a template, you will need to zoom in or crop the image into the proper size. If you're unfamiliar with the many features of Photoshop, start with a small image, using filters to add grain and other effects. After this step, you may want to edit the image to further refine details. Add filters You have many options to create various images in Photoshop, including Photoshop's Filter palette. Photoshop has an incredibly large number of filters that will transform your image into a myriad of other images. Click the Filter drop-down menu in the upper left to go to the Filter palette. Image Enhancements Basic Enhancements Enhancements that are not dependent on layers like Levels or Curves are very easy and quick to use. Use the following settings to produce an image that you can use as an introduction to the kinds of edits you can create with layers. Adjustment Layer (Optional): Image Size (Constrain Proportions) Brightness & Contrast Curves Levels Hue and Saturation Filters (lower right) These are the basic image adjustments that are also available in Photoshop Elements. Selective Color Enhancements Once you have the basic image adjustments, try adding some selective color enhancements. Some of the options are: Blend If Using Curves: This tool is useful to blend the contrast across your image This tool is useful to blend the contrast across your image Color Balance: This tool also has a built-in Lightness/Darkness adjustment. Q: Does it exist a command to print the type of an object in C#? I need to print the type of an object in a function. It's a small function, so I don't want to use reflection. I do not want to use the Convert class. I found this in VB.NET CStr(TypeOf obj) Is it possible to do something similar in C#? A: There is an analog of CStr in C# - System.Runtime.Serialization.Formatters.TypeName. If you know the type and its assembly name, you can use Type.GetType(string): string assembly = Assembly.Load("foo"); Type t = assembly.GetType("Foo.Bar.Baz"); Console.WriteLine(t.Name); A: You can use Assembly.GetCallingAssembly().FullName to get the name of the assembly that called the function. A better answer is to use the TypeDescriptor class: TypeDescriptor.GetConverter(objectToPrint) Now, you only have to do this on the type that you need to print the name of, rather than on every object. A: An alternate way to do this that is generally faster: Console.WriteLine(Type.GetType("Foo.Bar.Baz")); Assuming Foo, Bar and Baz are the namespaces they are in and that you are working with a real type not an instance of a type. Thank you so much for your hard work. You are a blessing in my life. Cheryl Johnson Cheryl Johnson Federal Advocates, Inc.
